Ophthalmology Clinic

EHHOPhtho is an ancillary service of the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership that provides eye care for patients referred from EHHOP’s Medical Clinic. In addition to full ophthalmology evaluations, the clinic also partners with local eyeglass providers to  assess and prescribe free eyeglasses for low-income individuals.

Purpose: Provide prescription glasses for near and distance vision, diabetic retinopathy screening, referrals for specialty eye treatment, and medical students the opportunity to develop proficiency with  eye history, slit lamp exam, and refraction.

Eligibility: You must have had a recent eye exam, and have no other resources available to pay for glasses (from federal/state programs, or charitable organizations).

To Apply: You will work with a social/case worker at EHHOP to submit an application.
