Women’s Health Clinic
The Women’s Health Clinic is an ancillary service of the East Harlem Health Outreach Partnership that provides specialized medical and procedural care for female patients referred from EHHOP’s Medical Clinic. Similar to the EHHOP Medical clinic, patients are seen by a team composed of one Senior Clinician (3rd or 4th year medical student), one Junior Clinician (1st or 2nd year medical student), and a Mount Sinai Medical Center Attending who specializes in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Patients are referred to the Women's Health Clinic from the Medical Clinic for the following":
Family planning/birth control counseling
Management of abnormal pap smears and colposcopy
Abnormal uterine bleeding counseling and management (including post-menopausal bleeding)
Endometrial biopsy
Urinary incontinence
Long-acting reversible contraceptive placement and removal
Menopause symptom counseling and management
Pelvic pain
Ovarian cyst evaluation and management
Uterine fibroids
Vulvar lesions'
Breast lesions, masses or pain
Family history of gynecologic malignancy
Referral for any gynecological conditions beyond the scope of Medical Clinic Attending
Other services that can be provided:
Sexually transmitted infection testing
Pap smear
Pregnancy testing
Transvaginal /Pelvic Ultrasound
Referral to sub-specialty gynecologists
Referral for gynecologic surgery including tubal ligation/salpingectomy, hysterectomy
